Mary Deutsch, founder of MTD Financial, has been serving individuals and families with a professional background spanning finance, sales, management, and marketing since 2007. Raised on a dairy farm in Sycamore, Illinois, she developed an appreciation for hard work, integrity, and building lasting relationships. She founded MTD Financial in 2014 with the goal of helping clients address the financial decisions that come with preparing for retirement and preserving their financial future. Mary is also a Fiduciary offering managed portfolio services via MTD Wealth Management.
Mary works with clients to develop personalized financial strategies based on their individual goals and priorities. Her areas of focus include retirement income planning, wealth management, asset preservation strategies, and legacy planning. She believes that educating clients and maintaining open communication are important parts of the planning process, helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions.
In addition to working with clients, Mary is a frequent educator and speaker, sharing financial and retirement planning ideas with both clients and professional audiences. She remains committed to providing thoughtful guidance and building long-term relationships based on trust, communication, and service.
Our approach is built on pillars that don’t bend depending on market conditions,
account size, or complexity. These are the principles that define every client
relationship we enter.
Financial complexity is not a virtue. We believe the best guidance is the kind that makes the complicated feel simple — not because we’ve glossed over the details, but because we’ve done the work to translate them into language that actually means something to you.
Every meeting ends with confidence, direction, and a clear “why” behind each decision. You leave knowing exactly where you stand, what you’re doing next, and why it makes sense for your specific situation. No jargon. No pressure. No ambiguity.
We made a deliberate choice to stay small. Not because we can’t grow, but because we know what happens when a firm grows faster than its ability to know each client by name. We’re not a call center. We’re a team that knows your family, understands your goals, and is genuinely invested in your outcome.
You will always work with someone who knows your full picture. Our clients describe the relationship as being guided by someone who treats their future as if it were their own — because that is exactly the standard we hold ourselves to.
We tell the truth even when it’s hard. We lead decisively and do what’s right, not what’s easy. If a strategy isn’t the best fit for your situation, we say so — even when it means recommending something that benefits you more than it benefits us.
This commitment to honest guidance is what turns clients into advocates. Trust, once earned, is the most durable asset in any relationship — and we work every single day to deserve it.
Every member of the MTD team was chosen with one standard in mind: would you be proud to introduce this person to your best client? We are a professional, personable, and competent group — and we believe great service is delivered by great people who genuinely care.
